We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to check these conditions periodically for changes.

Using the Application

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our application.

2.2 User account

If you create an account with us, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your account.

2.3 Prohibited activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following activities:

• Unauthorised access to user accounts.
• Extraction of content (also known as Scraping) from the application.
• Use of robots, spiders or other automated methods to interact with the application.
• Attempt to bypass the application's security measures.
• Distribution of content that is illegal or infringes copyright.
• Use of the application for fraudulent or illegal purposes.
• Harassment, defamation or any other form of harmful behaviour towards other users.
• Unauthorised collection or use of other users' personal information.
• Violation of applicable laws and regulations when using the application.
• Modification, alteration or attempted falsification of the application's source code.
• Use of fraudulent methods to unlock paid content or premium features without appropriate payment.
• Use of unauthorised methods to access premium features or paid subscriptions without appropriate payment.
• Sharing information or methods enabling other users to bypass in-app purchases, premium subscriptions or content unblocking.

Intellectual property

All content, functionalities, design, source code and all elements relating to Karate Sensei belong to us or are licensed to us and are subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights.

Our application is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of the application.

2.1 Objective

We use the data collected to:

• Personalise the user experience: adapt the content of the application to the skill level, training preferences and individual progress of each user.
• Communication and support: Send out important information and application updates, and provide personalised customer support.
• Continuous improvement: Analyse aggregated data to understand usage trends, identify popular features and constantly improve the quality of the application.
• Personalised notifications: Send training, progress monitoring and reminder notifications to encourage regular karate practice.
• Performance analysis: Measure and monitor users' progress in their karate training activities, providing statistics and recommendations based on the data collected.
• Application optimisation: adapting the application's functionalities according to language preferences, the type of device used and the geographical location of users.
• Feature development: Use usage data to identify the most popular features and guide the development of new features.
• Customised offers: For users opting for premium features or subscriptions, customise offers and promotions to suit their specific needs.

Data retention

4.1 Retention period

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active. This data is kept so that we can provide you with the service, personalise your experience, track your karate progress and meet our operational needs.

4.2 Inactive accounts

We do not automatically delete inactive accounts. Your data remains stored until you request deletion using one of the methods described in the next section.

4.3 Backups

Backups containing your data may persist for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are permanently overwritten as part of our standard backup rotation.

Data deletion

5.1 How to request deletion

You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time using one of the following methods:

• From the app: open Karate Sensei, go to your profile, open the Security tab and tap Delete account.
• By email: send a deletion request to hello@karate-sensei.com from the email address linked to your account.

5.2 What is deleted

Once your deletion request is received, the following data is removed:

• Your account information (email, username, date of birth, geographical location, language preferences).
• Your karate profile (skill level, training preferences).
• Your activity and progress history within the application.
• Device information associated with your account.

5.3 Deletion timeline

Your data is removed from our active production systems within 30 days of the request. Residual copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within the following 30 days. After this period, no recovery is possible.

5.4 Active subscriptions

If you hold an active subscription, please cancel it through your app store (Google Play or App Store) before deleting your account. Subscription management cannot be handled on our side.

Commitment to confidentiality

We are committed to guaranteeing the confidentiality of our users, and although we use these third-party services to improve the functionality of the application, we only share the information necessary for them to function properly. We strongly recommend that users carefully read the privacy policies of the third-party services mentioned above for a full understanding of how their data is processed.

We reserve the right to update or modify our privacy policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately.
